tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6094253214225998105.post2164394889322189266..comments2023-07-07T04:35:20.527-04:00Comments on Unstuffed: The Urban Homestead Series: From the Medicine ChestAmberhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14504083012497351241noreply@blogger.comBlogger4125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6094253214225998105.post-3812948280704937162010-02-12T09:52:01.230-05:002010-02-12T09:52:01.230-05:00hi leaf. i've got to hand it to you. snorted...hi leaf. i've got to hand it to you. snorted cubicle laughter is an accomplishment indeed! and it's always nice to hear one when of my posts reaches out and touches someone. we both deserve a pat on the back. ;)<br /><br />i'm happy to report that the finger has healed nicely. there is still just a touch of swelling that is only noticeable because i'm an obsessive freak and keep comparing the wounded finger with the normal finger on my other hand every 10 minutes. but all of the redness, heat and pain is completely gone. the skin at the base of my finger nail is a little blistered from an overzealous application of the poultice while it was still too hot. but that was just me being dumb and i've learned my lesson (probably).<br /><br />i started treating the finger in earnest last sunday and will keep up a more relaxed regime for another day or two, poulticing once a day until the swelling is completely gone and a using a little bit of violet and plantain oil on the finger with a bandage, that's mostly for the blister at this point. i stopped the garlic honey and turmeric paste a day or so ago, once it seemed like it was no longer needed. it kinda felt like i was preparing a chicken wing for roasting or something!<br /><br />but that's also one of the cool things i like about this kind of healing. everything i used was totally edible. it's food. i don't have to worry about <a href="http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn16397-top-11-compounds-in-us-drinking-water.html" rel="nofollow">peeing out pharmaceuticals</a> <a href="http://www.cbc.ca/health/story/2006/03/23/drugs-060323.html" rel="nofollow">into my drinking water</a>.<br /><br />and that's something i'll stand up and clap for!Amberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14504083012497351241noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6094253214225998105.post-25532938199344249392010-02-11T14:54:23.692-05:002010-02-11T14:54:23.692-05:00just so you know, i snorted twice in laughter at s...just so you know, i snorted twice in laughter at some puns you made, which is a heavy accomplishment when i've been in my cubicle all day, drowning in federal sorrow.<br /><br />would like to know when said finger heals.
